"CLAP for Youth @ JC" is Hong Kong's first cross-sectoral support platform that helps students and non-engaged youth plan their futures. This five-year programme will develop an evidence-based intervention model, professional career and life planning teams, five district service teams, a one-stop e-portal and more – all to foster an enabling environment for young people to identify their career interests and develop their career roadmaps. CLAP for Youth @ JC was launched in May 2015 with a HK$500 million donation funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.
The School-based Team (SBT) of the CLAP for Youth @ JC Project is very pleased to announce that CLAP for Adventure career exploration e-Portal (Version 1.0) will be available in services in December 2015. At this stage, a battery of tools and career assessments is available to facilitate career exploration of S4-S6 students as an integral part of the comprehensive life planning education and career guidance in school. Functions and capacity of the e-portal will be enhanced continuously in the coming future. This free service is exclusive to Network (Cohort 1 and 2) and Affiliated Schools only. Your school is cordially invited to attend the briefing session.
"The CLAP for Youth @ JC Project has started for half a year and we take pride in announcing encouraging progress in various aspects. The School-based Team (SBT) of the Project is now very pleased to invite to join our briefing session on various resources and services available for our Network and Affiliated Schools in late November."
Many thanks to Professor Johanna Wyn from the Youth Research Centre of the University of Melbourne for her fruitful and inspiring talk on “Research Strategies for Community-based interventions for young people” at the Department of Social Work, Hong Kong Baptist University on 28 October 2015. The CLAP members had benefited a lot from Prof Wyn’s sharing on the topic.
